No, our products contain no cannabis or related isolates in any form*.

This product was created as an alternative to CBD. Many of our friends and family seek pain relief, but are not able to deal with the issues associated with cannabis (and/or hemp).

We are happy that Californica's CALM treatment oil offers "issue-free" pain relief. That is why we created it. And that is why Californica products will always be CBD-free.

*According to Medical News Today, there are three types of CBD:

• Full-spectrum: Includes all parts of the cannabis plant. Full-spectrum products contain less than <0.3% THC.
• Broad-spectrum: This contains most of the cannabis plant compounds. Unlike full-spectrum, broad-spectrum products contain trace amounts of THC.
• Isolates: Only contain CBD, with no other cannabinoids or THC. Products that contain CBD-isolates may not produce any notable psychoactive effects.

Our products are made with clean, plant-based ingredients. We do not use preservatives, fillers, or lab-derived chemicals. We are plant-based, all-natural, and minimalist.

The fragrance of our product is best-enjoyed within 3-6 months upon opening. We suggest using within 12 months.

Our carrier oils are luxurious and food-grade, best kept in cool spaces away from sunlight to slow down oxidation.

Our formulations thoughtfully include potent botanicals that work together in concert to provide multiple benefits. Many of these plants have been used as traditional remedies for millennia. Key ingredients include:

• Artemisia Californica (California Sagebrush): This California native plant has multiple benefits including pain management, anti-inflammation, anti-bacterial, and insect repellency. Native Americans used California sagebrush to address various ailments including backaches, arthritis, and muscular strains.
  
• Boswellia Sacra (Frankincense): The main active ingredients of frankincense are alpha- and beta-boswellic acid and some other pentacyclic triterpenic acids. Studies have shown that these compounds reduce inflammation. Frankincense’s anti-inflammatory effects may help ease symptoms of arthritis and tendonitis.
  
• Commiphora Myrrha (Myrrh): Myrrh contains terpenoids and sesquiterpenes, both of which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Certain terpenoids may relieve pain by blocking pain signals to the brain and also reduce the body’s production of inflammatory chemicals. Sesquiterpenes may address the hypothalamus, helping us remain calm and balanced.

• Salvia Apiana (White Sage): White sage is both antimicrobial and antibacterial. Rich in compounds that activate certain receptors in the brain responsible for elevating mood levels, reducing stress - and, even alleviating pain. We have the traditions of many Native American peoples to thank for its use. This includes the Lakota, Chumash, Cahuilla, among others.

• Santalum Spicatum (Sandalwood Nut) Oil: Contains ximenynic acid (one of the powerful anti-inflammatory agents found in nature). Soothes joint pain, bruises, cuts, burns, cystic acne & inflammatory skin issues.

A. californica contains powerful plant compounds called monoterpenes that relieve pain. Monoterpenes with known pain relieving activity in A. californica include camphor, eucalyptol, camphene, beta-pinene, borneol and thujone.

These monoterpenes dampen the sensation of pain by inhibiting certain pain receptors located in the skin. These monoterpenes easily break the pain cycle in the skin and provide relief where needed.

The monoterpenes are rapidly cleared from the skin with little toxicity since they are only present in small amounts.
